#30Daysof Lipstick : Week 2

Sorry about the absence, folks. Crazy how one hospitalized family member can throw off everything (she is doing much better, thank you :). Welcome back for week two of #30daysoflipstick!

Day 8 was another metal liquid lipstick by Smashbox. This one is called Mauve Squad. I really loved this one but I’m pretty sure my facial expression above just says, “Monday.” lol

Smashbox Be Legendary Liquid Lip in Mauve Squad.

Day 9: This one is an oldie but a goodie. Bite Beauty Luminous Creme in Fig. If you only try one lipstick on this entire list, get to Sephora and try this one. It smells amazing, is full coverage and a wonderful neutral pink.

Day 10: I think this is the last Smashbox one in the lipstick bag. Smashbox Be Legendary Lip in Crimson Chrome. It is not for the faint of heart. However, I do believe I made Marilyn Munroe and Dita Von Teese proud with this look.

Day 11: More dark lips today. The problem with randomly pulling them out of the bag is that you can get two similar looking lipsticks in a row. Today’s Bite Beauty lipstick is in the shade Mulberry. This must not have made the cut when Bite Beauty switched from their Luminous Creme formula (discontinued) to their Amuse Bouche formula as I don’t see it on Sephora or the Bite Beauty website.

Day 12: I have seriously fallen in love with these Sephora #lipstories lipsticks. They just launched in December and I already have six. Clearly I am trying to justify them all by including them in the challenge. This shade is 38 Off-Limits. I am in love with this colour. It is easy to wear but it just slightly off beat from the “normal” colour range of lipsticks. It does transfer like an SOB though. 😐

Day 13: Daughter actually chose my lipstick that morning and she bypassed the hot pinks, teal, silver, black and reds left in the bag and chose…. another purple. Clearly she and I are related. MAC Cosmetics in Pick Me! Pick Me! While this looks very similar to the one from the day before, it needs several layers to look this purple and is packed full of glitter. MAC’s website describes it as, “Muted lavender with pink pearl.”

DAY 14

Day 14: It was unlikely I was going to wear this teal lipstick to work so it was probably best it came out of the bag on a Sunday. I do really love the colour so I’m sure you’ll see me wear it more as spring gets closer.

So, what did you think of Week 2? Any favourites? I’d love to hear from you. Happy Shopping!

#30DaysofLipstick: Week 1

This has to be the funnest and easiest challenge I’ve ever done! This could be because I normally challenge myself to do ridiculous fad diets.

Here’s a round up of Days 2 – 7 in case you missed it:

Day 2 was my first day back at work after Christmas break and I thought, what the heck, let’s pretend I feel great (I didn’t, that cold hung on for a long time) and wear navy lipstick. Add to that my accidental hair-dying incident (long story) and I may have been projecting a grunge image that wasn’t intended. Oh well, I love navy lipstick. However, I don’t think I will be wearing it to work ever again. There was navy lipstick on my tea mug, my water bottle, my teeth, my nose, my cheek, my sandwich…. you get the picture. This pink is a great day colour and definitely a go-to for any eye look. I loved how it dried down and stayed put all day too. NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede in Tea & Cookies

This metallic burgundy/purple was a brand new one I had gotten for Christmas and I put it on seconds before I took this picture. I will definitely be wearing it again and again and again. It did transfer to my tea mug but not nearly as bad as the navy lipstick. Smashbox Be Legendary Liquid Lip in Foiled Brat

This Bite Beauty multistick is by far one of my favourites. I did a video about it about a year ago (which you can watch if you are looking for more in-depth thoughts). Bite Beauty Multistick in Biscotti

I may have gotten a little carried away with this challenge and purchased some additional lipsticks for it. Like I could somehow run out of lipstick?! Anyways, these Sephora #lipstories lipsticks are lovely and creamy. They are only $10 and come in 3 finishes and 40 colours, can you blame me for buying more?? Sephora #lipstories in 41 Take a Spin

Okay, I’ll admit it. I wasn’t gonna post anything on Day 7. Sunday is usually my no-makeup day. So you got a no-makeup lipstick look. Bite Beauty Matte Crayon in Glace

So that was my first week of looks. I definitely have a several purple lipsticks to get through and a few reds that I’m seriously dreading. I just don’t think red is my colour.

What is your favourite lipstick? Any that I’ve worn in my first week? I’d love to hear about it. Happy Shopping!

First Impression: Bite Beauty Multistick in Biscotti

I love Bite Beauty lipsticks. The handmade, Canadian lip products are a great luxury item, in my opinion. They smell amazing, they slide on easily with full-coverage and are made of food and food-grade products. What’s not to love?

But I have to admit that I was skeptical of the Multistick they released in the fall. One product that works equally well on lips, cheeks and eyelids? Seems too good to be true. Here is my first impression of the multistick, which I picked up in Biscotti.
