Hey folks, anyone else get a Luxe Box this season? I didn’t take any of the upgrades. Some looked really nice but I love the element of surprise in my Luxe Box. Overall I was pretty pumped about the box. I know it’s been a month since I got my box but I really wanted to review the products not just unbox them and that always takes awhile. I’m also going to be stealing photos from websites for some of the products because I got carried away during Sample Killah and forgot to take photos of the packaging before I threw them away.
Here’s a list and some comments about the things I got:
Nexxus Color Assure Sulfate-Free System
Sample Value: $2.00 (2 x 5 mL & 1 x 9 mL)
While I have several shampoo samples I always love them. Especially for fancy shampoo and conditioner. From my last Luxe Box I got the Fekkai PRX Reparatives set and ended up buying the conditioner because it was so awesome. Anyways, this set was… okay. I have oily hair and usually get it coloured to help manage the oil. This set assumes you have dry hair and packs on the moisturizer so for me that was way too much. I needed to wash my hair the next day and I usually only wash every second. Nice smell tho.
Retail Value: $19.00 (Full Size)
The easy-to-apply, liquid eyeliner pen allows you to create thick feline flicks or fine defined lines to accentuate your eyes. With the unique long-lasting formula featuring key ingredient Sodium Hyaluronate for a gratifying, colour-intense smudge-proof finish.
Never heard of this brand but I always love eyeliner. Especially black. And it works great. After just a little bit of practice with it, I can get a great cat eye.
And it lasts ALL DAY. And all night too if you are like me and forget to wash your face before you go to bed. (I know, ew!)
Teeez ‘Toxic Tangerine’ Nail Lacquer
Take your nails to high-gloss heaven with Toxic Tangerine. With no Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene or Formaldehyde, you’ll feel good and look great wearing Teeez’s Big Three Free Nail Lacquers.
I love this colour. And the formula was great. I’m all about the cream nail polishes. (And for those interested, there are Essence French mani stickers on top. Don’t buy them, they barely lasted all afternoon. Boo!) Several others got different Teeez products. I’m interested to see what they think.
Created with: Macadamia Nut Oil, Sesame Seed Oil and Wheat Germ.
Green scale and ethically produced: NO Parabens, NO Propylene Glycol, NO Synthetic Colour, NO Mineral Oil
This is greasy. Too greasy for a day cream. Night cream, sure. It does smell amazing tho!
Soothing Refiner and Cleanser, Replenishing Scrub, Comforting Mask and Soothing Cream Sample Value: $15.00 (4 x 5 mL)
Hydrate, protect and treat your skin with the Eslor Introductory Collection. 100% Free of Parabens, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) and Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate (SLES).
These were all amazing (except for the Comforting Mask, it make me break out and gave me a headache). I’m still trying to figure out how I spend $150 or more to buy all three without my husband noticing the MasterCard bill and freaking out. The Replenishing Scrub made my skin feel so soft and wonderful. I thought it couldn’t get any better until I rubbed some of the Soothing Cream on… and then it did. Seriously, I was competing with my toddler for the softest skin. Totally, totally amazing. Maybe I can put them on my Christmas list….
Retail Value: $13.00 (Full Size)
Remove those stubborn hairs for precise and perfectly arched brows.
I already have two pairs of tweezers but I believe that you can never have too many pairs as they can get lost (same with nail clippers).
I also received a Marni fragrance sample but there’s no info about it on the Luxe Box website. It smells peppery to me and a little like something my grandma wore when I was younger. I’ll try it but I don’t think this is going to be a win for me. According to HoltRenfrew, Marni retails for $125 for 65 ml which makes my sample worth a little more than $13.
This month, Luxe Box also included some samples of Crest Whitestrips and Crest 3D White toothpaste. When I first opened the box and these were laying on top I was worried about the quality of my box. But I really lovedmost of the products, especially the nail polish and the eyeliner. I paid $25 plus taxes for the box and got ~$83 worth of stuff so that’s a pretty good deal and I have used most of it.
