Santa Schedule 2016

I love going to see Santa. Even before I had Daughter, my mom and I would go and see Santa together. It was a ridiculous but fun family tradition. Now of course, we go every year and use it as an opportunity to have a family photo. Here we are at St. Vital Centre last year:

Since Santa visits are an important part of holiday shopping, I thought I’d quickly post Santa’s schedule here in Winnipeg during the 2016 holiday season.

CF Polo Park: Santa arrived on November 20th and his hours are: Monday to Saturday 10am – 8pm; Sundays 10am – 5pm; Black Friday: November 25th 9am – 8pm; Late Night Shopping: Thursday December 22nd 10am – 8pm; Christmas Eve: Saturday December 24th 10am – 2pm. Find more information here. As a side note, Polo has given their Santa display a facelift and it looks awesome. Here’s my quick snap of it from the second floor by the elevator.

St. Vital Centre: Santa arrived on November 16th and his hours are November 21 to December 23: Monday – Saturday 9am – 8pm; Sunday  9am – 5pm except for Wednesday, November 23 – 11:30am – 8pm; Thursday, December 24 – 9am to 1pm. Find more information here.

Portage Place Shopping Centre: Santa arrived on Nov 19th but his schedule at this mall is erratic so be sure to check their calendar with his hours here.

Grant Park Shopping Centre: Santa arrives Nov 26th and his hours are: Monday – Friday 2 pm – 8pm; Saturday 12 pm – 6 pm; Sunday 1 pm – 5 pm; Dec 24th 12 pm – 4 pm. Find more information here.

Kildonan Place: Santa arrived Nov 18 and his hours are November 20-December 23: Monday-Saturday 10:00am-8:00pm; Sundays 11:00-5:00pm; Christmas Eve 10:00am-3:00pm. Just FYI, KP was the only mall to specify that outside cameras were not allowed but I’m not sure how thrilled the other malls are about outside cameras. Find more information here. KP is also one of two malls that do Santa visits with pets. KP schedules these on Sunday evenings during the Christmas season. Click here to see the details and plan to go early, it’s a huge hit.

Garden City Shopping Centre: Santa arrived on November 19 and his hours are: Nov. 19 to Dec. 23, Monday – Saturday, 12pm – 2pm, 3pm-5pm, 6pm-8pm; Sunday: 12pm – 2pm, 3pm-5pm; December 24, 12pm – 3pm. Garden City also does “Paws and Claus” pet pictures with Santa every Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6pm – 8pm starting November 22 and ending December 21. For more information click here.

Oak Hammock Marsh: November 26th, 12 pm – 3 pm. Bring your own cameras to get a shot with Santa and “take part in many fun activities including cooking bannock and sipping hot chocolate over an open fire, face painting, and making a Christmas craft.” There are also wagon rides available for $5 per person. Click here for more details.

Did I miss Santa somewhere? Please let me know in the comments. Happy Shopping!

EDIT: After publishing time, Fort Whyte posted their Santa visit schedule, Sunday, November 27 & December 4, 11 am – 3 pm. Note that there is a charge to see Santa of $7 per family. Check out more information here.

Christmas price list

Hey folks! Sorry it’s been a while since I posted. I was very caught up in planning my daughter’s first birthday party and getting back into the groove of full-time employment since my maternity leave ended.

I just wanted to let you know that I’ve put together a price list for services including the Christmas package! I know many of you hate Christmas shopping. For a nominal fee, I can make the holiday season a whole lot less stressful. The package comes with gift wrapping options or gift wrapping only that’s the part that stresses you out. Either way, gimme a call/text/email and together we can figure out how to make the season a whole lot more jolly for you! Happy Shopping!

TLC Shopping Services

So, I’ve had a few people ask me what services I offer. I am in the process of building a website with an extensive menu of services and I do have some ideas on my About Section, so I just thought I would elaborate here for you.

Gift buying is a pretty straight forward service that I offer. I can help you decide what to get or maybe you just need me to pick it up for you. I can also wrap gifts that I bought or gifts that you already had that just need wrapping. I also do Christmas buying packages. As I explained to my first Christmas client, “It’s like Santa really shows up.” Imagine not going near a mall or a store during the month of December. It would truly make your Christmas magical (think of all the time you would have for baking!!).

Note to the guys: This also means I buy and wrap for things like anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine’s Day (I also make dinner reservations 😉 ) and for emergencies like, “I-accidentally-told-her-that-her-new-haircut-made-her-look-rubenesque.” I will also remind you that these dates are coming up so you will never again show up empty-handed on a night when you definitely needed to bring home flowers.

I have a series of services called “The Traveling Salesman.” It was inspired by my friend Deanna who travels alot for work and gets me to pick up things for her. She generally arrives home late Sunday evening when everything is closed and she has been away from home for a week. She wants things like milk, eggs, lettuce, fruit, her dry-cleaning – you get the idea. For a nominal fee, I pick this all up for her and drop it at her house. It would be a great service if you travel alot like Deanna or if you only needed the service once per year, like when you get home from your hot destination vacation in winter.

Internet shopping and searches seem like something you can do yourself but you’d be surprised how many times I’ve been asked to find items online. Sometimes it is older people (note Mom, I said “older people” not “OLD people” so I’m not calling you old!) who aren’t comfortable shopping online but sometimes it’s friends who are trying to track down a trend or a locally sold-out item. Ever look for a men’s Sorel sneaker called Chukka in cream, size 11? No?? Well, I can tell you that if there were any left for sale in Canada or the US they are at a Mom & Pop store that has never heard of the internet. Yes, occasionally I have been wrong but generally, if it’s for sale on the internet and you are willing to pay the price, I can find it for you.

And finally, image and wardrobe consulting. Now, when I say image consulting, I’m not talking about a makeover. I wish I was Stacey and Clinton and could give you $5000 for a new wardrobe (and a trip to New York!) but I’m not. I’m talking about accompanying you shopping and helping you choose clothing & accessories that are right for you. This could be for a particular event (Christmas party, work event, wedding, etc) or it could just be for some everyday clothes. Maybe you’ve changed weight and need to learn how to dress your frame. Maybe you really like the colours or textures that are in style for the season and want to learn how to incorporate it into your wardrobe without looking like an aging hipster (or like a hipster, period, lol). I can help you do those things. I will also be honest about what looks great on you and what should stay in the store.

A wardrobe consultation is just image consulting on a larger scale. We can look through your wardrobe, figure out what fits, what you like and what’s flattering and GET RID OF THE REST! I’m sure we all have closets overflowing and cupboards bulging and we still say, “I have nothing to wear.” Let’s make every outfit in your closet flattering and your favourite!

If any of these services sound like something you need in your life or if you can think of anything to do with shopping that I haven’t outlined here, drop me a line at tiffany@tlcshopping.ca and we can chat! Happy Shopping!
